I take pride in ensuring they’re taken care of regularly – hot meals ready by dinner time, clean covers at night, you know, the ‘everyday’ little things.
My pup Brooklyn is no exception. She’s our family dog: 10 months old & a Pit/Mastiff bull mix. We took her in when she was only a month old. One challenge we’ve continually dealt with as she grew older is her separation anxiety – and this is still something we’re working on to this day. I am very happy & pleased that her reactions to us being separate have improved; those first few nights of her staying a part from us are moments I wont ever forget. Her cries; my baby Brooklyn.
At this stage of her life, the only real separation anxiety we deal with mostly is while the hubby and I are away at work. Once we return home, Brooklyn. Goes. Crazy! That’s been the case up until recently when we tried out Dope Dog Calming Crunchies – and the results were immediate. We gave her a treat right when we left & upon returning home, she was excited – as she always is – but in a much calm, cooler & collective tone. We were immediately hooked.
Dope Dog is CA based product specializing in cannabinoid-rich hemp products. All products are tested by a third-party & are deemed safe and healthy for your pup. As someone who is a supporter of cannabis, I was more than excited to try out these products with Brooklyn. On top of being beneficial for separation anxiety, Dope Dog also helps with joint pain, epilepsy, inflammation and issues that may arise to your pup’s aging. I have not come across a product such as this one and am very thankful to have found it – this is a much needed product in our current dog market.
Though Brooklyn doesn’t have any other issues with the exception of her separation anxiety, it’s nice to know she is being treated for the other issues prior to them becoming a problem for her.
Early May has been such a hectic month – my mother-in-law came down to visit, it was my 25th birthday on Mother’s Day, and Darien & I went on a little vacation to South Florida (Miami, give me a few years, we WILL be moving down). I’ve been trying to get back into our groove, honing down the daily routine, but in a week’s time, my sister & brother will be making there way to mi casa. This unconventional month is not done with us.
Since turning 25 last Sunday, and it’s a bit weird to say, I can already see my thought process changing and my habits adjusting, both in positive ways. Every time I would experience a birthday, I’ve always entered the new year with “I feel the same exact age as I did yesterday; doesn’t feel any different.” Twenty-five’s tone is completely new.
These photos were taken on April 29th, the last Sunday of April, as the Sun was setting. This was also the night of the Full Pink Moon – & if you’re a believer in the powers of our Sun/Moon, then you would know the spiritual meaning of this night. It is the start of blossoming, making changes for the best – it being your habits or the circle of people around you. Embracing this new wave of positive change to enhance your life.
Did you know of the Full Pink Moon on 4/29/18? Have you noticed any changed in your habits, lifestyle, thoughts since the end of April? I would love to know down below!
Actually looking at my outfit, it didn’t dawn on me until that every single piece here is thrifted:

Oh yes, oh yes, it’s Spring time! -The Little Einsteins (#momlife)
Being a May baby, it’s only natural that I claim the Spring Season as my favorite. The cool breeze, the blooming flowers, all that color – it’s the season of rebirth and growth. For the Summer lovers, it’s the four play for late night outings and priceless memories. Not to mention, of course, it’s festival season.
Yellow is one color I’ve seen a lot of on my Insta and I couldn’t help but take part in the color wave. It’s the color of Sunshine (insert Sun Flower Emoji here) and to me, it’s a reminder that there are always brighter days coming. This yellow button-down top is one of the treasures I found on my last thrift trip [FYI: haul video coming soon]. I’ve never owned a top with vertical stripes & in this color? It was essential for my wardrobe this season.
I decided to pair this top with my American Apparel High Wasted jeans to keep this look casual. To maintain that casual tone, I went with my Stussy tote as my purse – this immediately made me feel like I was back home in NYC; taking a trip to the Strand with a gal pal, followed by a sit down in Union Square with Fro Yo and friendly squirrels. I’m not home sick, I promise.
For a slight bit of interest, I styled this looks with my Platform Vans & horizontal stripped socks. The neutral browns on the socks went well with the top and the black with my sneakers. I also really liked the contrast of the horizontal stripes on the socks against the vertical stripes on the top.
What is your color of the Spring season? Please let me know in the comments down below!
I hope life’s been treating you well & that this coming week brings you nothing but positivity, prosperity & productivity. Thank you for stopping by. ❤
I hope you had an amazing weekend! My weekend’s been pretty chill – I spent Saturday working on a school project at a friends house & spent my Sunday doing some Spring Cleanin’. It was desperately needed; I already feel more at ease with what’s to come as far as life & time managing goes. My foundation is organized. #blessed
I managed to even get a video edited this weekend: I introduce to you my sister, Bernice.
We’ve been talking about filming this video since 2014, and FINALLY, we found time to make this Sister Tag happen. I don’t film tag videos often, so I hope you enjoy this personal video!
Sit back, relax & watch my sister and I act like fools.
Would you guys like to see more personal videos like this one? Leave any recommendations in the comments.
I’ve always enjoyed watching ‘favorites’ videos on YouTube, but have never been keen on filming them. They’re just not my type of video. Since blogging, I’ve read a few posts, from various ladies, dedicated to their current faves, so I thought why not give it a try? Well, here we are! I added a variety of topics to my favorites list: beauty, fashion, music and a few random knick knacks.
Here’s what I’ve been loving in the month of September:
I’ve been obsessed with the Bath & Body Works lotion Sugar Plum Dream. It has hints of sugar plum, citrus and blossoms. It’s the perfect blend of girly and sweet, making it simply delicious. This is a seasonal scent – I believe it’s only available during the holidays. I’m hoping I can get my hands on a full-size bottle soon, my current stash is running seriously low! This travel-size bottle was gifted to me by a family member.
Hi, I’m Glendaly, and I am a chapstick hoarder. I’ll be the first to admit – I’m addicted to chapsticks. I’m the type of person who, upon loosing a chapstick or balm, will go out of my way to pick up a new one, to then find the one that was originally lost a few days later. I mean, you can never have too many lip moisturizers, right? Blistex is my preferred brand for medicating and moisturizing my dry, chapped lips, but when I can’t find it any where, Maybelline’s Dr. Rescue has been my go to balm. It’s super moisturizing, and gives your lips that tingly feeling medicated lip balms are supposed to give you. In simpler words: it does its job.
I love oversized tees; I’ve been really into rocking them as dresses. This tee, in particular, has been my current obsession. First and foremost, I am a huge supporter of the artist, Plasma Slug. The dedication and love he has for both his art work and his supporters is inspiring, and I wish him all of the success in the world. His Instagram following has increased by over 2,000 followers since I’ve started working with him – hard word, dedication, and passion takes you a long way. Fashion wise: despite wearing this tee as a dress, the main reason why I’ve been obsessed with it is because of its color. It’s a bright yellow-orange color – a color I never wear – so the challenge of trying to style this piece has been such a sport. Spoiler Alert: Future outfit post coming soon.
It’s a known fact that every girl needs a pair of black, ankle booties in there closet. I’ve been throwing these babies on with almost every outfit this past month – they are literally the easiest booties to walk in! I picked these booties up on Amazon about two years ago, and they are still going strong. They are perfect for fall: they add the perfect amount of casual sass to any look.
I’ve always been super picky when it comes to jewelry, it’s one of the many reasons why I started creating my own pieces. My Mermaid Warrior necklace [no longer available] is an official keeper in my collection. I just love the Earthy vibe it brings to any outfit.
This is a new type of bracelet I’ve been fabricating – stretchy bands. I’ve been loving this particular one mainly because of its color. It adds a nice, subtle pop of color to any outfit.
This month, I was introduced to Melanie Martinez; I found her one day, browsing through Instagram. This is her first debut album, and it’s beautifully crafted. The entire album is a long, continuous story, following this character she portrays – Cry Baby. It’s extremely dark and twisted, but has this whimsical, circus de freak feel that just fits with my soul perfectly. Her track Carousel was used as the intro song for last season’s American Horror Story. Favorite tracks: Sippy Cup, Mrs. Potatoe Head, Cake, Dollhouse.
My knick knack favorites are both related to blogging.
The first one, posted above, is an app called Evernote. I’m still getting adjusted to the functions, but so far, I’ve been enjoying it. This app can be downloaded onto phones, tablets and computers. When you leave a note, all devices can access it, making it super easy to jot down ideas, lists, or future posts. I will definitely be venturing more into this app as the weeks follow.
Last, but certainly not least, my journal has been a serious favorite of mine. This journal is where I keep all of my ideas for future posts, videos, anything related to my blog/vlog life. It’s somewhat similar to what I do on Evernote, however, I use the app more for drafting posts, more than anything. I picked this journal up at a local K Mart in my neighborhood for 11 dollars. I’m really big about writing down your thoughts, even if it isn’t blog related. It’s always good to keep track of ideas, dreams and thoughts that you think of – your mind is seriously an amazing thing! I feel like writing these types of things down in a sophisticated journal adds value to my thoughts, which makes me cherish my ideas so much more. The mature and serious vibes this journal evokes continuously pushes me to jot down my ideas and thoughts.
JUST A WARNING: today’s outfit is super casual. I’m talking jeans, tee & sneakers type of casual.
It’s been a while since I’ve rocked an ensemble like this. Every time I wear this combo, the feelings of nostalgia always hit me; it was my outfit choice everyday in Middle School. Those were the good ol’ days, not worrying about what you wore or how dirty you got.
This entire outfit is styled around my Vans. I’ve had them for about a month, and it honestly hurts to say that I’ve only worn these once. These Vans were won, through an Instagram giveaway, by my boyfriend. TIP: Enter those Instagram giveaways. You never know. TIP FOR GC: Follow your own advice.
On the 4th of July, Pabst Blue Ribbon was giving away 239 pairs of Vans to celebrate the birth of America. Darien entered the contest, won and was awesome enough to get them in my size.
In styling them, I decided to work my way up and picked out my bottoms next – I went with my AE cropped jeggings. The rips are perfect and I love how the ‘crop’ hits me above my ankles. It’s the perfect way to flaunt your shoe. I normally roll up my denim, but the convenience of the ‘crop’ makes me seriously obsessed with this pair.
For my top, I went with my Dorothy Tee from Supreme. I don’t wear this tee often, but it’ll always be a favorite. It carries a lot of sentimental value for me – which involves both my love for theater & the shenanigans Darien and I have gone through waiting in line for the Supreme drops.
I wanted to add a bit of color to my outfit, but didn’t want to wear any red. I decided to go with a different shade instead, and went with my magenta, fringe bag from Urban. It adds the perfect amount of bohemian spice, which is something I love to add into all of my outfits.
Be on the lookout: Darien & I are planning on doing a couples OOTD on my youtube channel soon styling these Vans. We’ve been talking about it for some time and I’m super excited!
I hope y’all are having an amazing week; cheers to the weekend!
