“Art is where Work meets Love.”
The arts have always been a part of my identity – I’ve quickly learned that if I am not regularly creating, I am not a happy gal. Everyday life starts feeling empty. There’s real magic in physically putting something together: it being an outfit, a painting, jewelry, film/videos, etc. I can’t fully explain this magic (except in my creative pieces, of course).
I know there are other creatives who understand: it’s a part of them that needs to be released. Be brought into the world. A piece of their mind, really. Them.
Having a dedicated place in your home – or [ideally] a separate room altogether – is such a necessity when it comes to channeling that creative energy. In NYC, I had a small studio in my laundry room. Yes, my laundry room. It wasn’t a big space but it was my space. 1.5 years later, I now have an entire Den to use as an office/studio space. I am beyond thankful for the size; both Darien and I can share it while still having enough room for us both to venture off in our own creative worlds. I have so much planned on how it’ll be organize to make use of it’s full potential. Right now, we’re currently in the early stages of it’s life but I’m stoked to see it grow and develop as both Darien and I develop in the coming months.
The five benefits I’ve gain from having my own creative corner:
- Being able to leave a project mid-way, & then return later to pick-up exactly where you left off. This is probably my favorite thing, especially as someone who creates jewelry and is constantly designing. If I feel like I’m in a rut, I can stop, take a break & come back once I’m fully caffeinated and ready to take on the artist block.
- Separating work from home. I do work a 9-5 four days a week and am a house wife/mama – that leaves me with one weekday where I’m able to sit in my office, and be in complete ‘work’ mode. As someone who enjoys creating and hustles part-time, having a space where I’m able to separate from home duties helps greatly with motivation and focus.
- The Escape Room. My office/studio space is my escape room – whenever I’m feeling the need to create & release any kind of stress or tension, it’s my go to location. Even if it’s not related to my Blog/YouTube or jewelry designs, it’s a place that promotes positivity no matter the medium the feelings create.
- Motivation for the kid(s). I’m a mother of one and she follows me EVERYWHERE. Putting that in capitalization is still an understatement to her obsession with me. I’m fully aware that it comes with the territory of being a mama, but I want her to follow and be motivated by my good habits. The hard work and dedication my office/studio room gives me is something I want her to see and embrace in her own way. She’s already a little artist – I want her to feel just as comfortable as her father and I in that space.
- Organization & Tidiness. Nothing makes me happier than having a space that’s organized – for the most part. Going back to point 1 – leaving work undone to return to later isn’t necessarily keeping your space tidy, but it does help with keeping you slightly organized. I mean that in the sense of you knowing what project you’re currently working on & where things are. If you have paperwork attached with your art (small business?), it’s also a great place to keep important paperwork together and safe.
Have a benefit not on the list? Please feel free to share them down below – I would love to know some of your benefits and incorporate them into my current space. Where do you have your creative corner? Remember, it’s never about size – your creative corner can be anywhere in your home. As long as it’s a place where you’re able to freely create, it is your creative corner.

As always, thank you for visiting my page. I hope you have a killer week.
Until the next post,
I love my lil’ familia.
I take pride in ensuring they’re taken care of regularly – hot meals ready by dinner time, clean covers at night, you know, the ‘everyday’ little things.
My pup Brooklyn is no exception. She’s our family dog: 10 months old & a Pit/Mastiff bull mix. We took her in when she was only a month old. One challenge we’ve continually dealt with as she grew older is her separation anxiety – and this is still something we’re working on to this day. I am very happy & pleased that her reactions to us being separate have improved; those first few nights of her staying a part from us are moments I wont ever forget. Her cries; my baby Brooklyn.
At this stage of her life, the only real separation anxiety we deal with mostly is while the hubby and I are away at work. Once we return home, Brooklyn. Goes. Crazy! That’s been the case up until recently when we tried out Dope Dog Calming Crunchies – and the results were immediate. We gave her a treat right when we left & upon returning home, she was excited – as she always is – but in a much calm, cooler & collective tone. We were immediately hooked.
Dope Dog is CA based product specializing in cannabinoid-rich hemp products. All products are tested by a third-party & are deemed safe and healthy for your pup. As someone who is a supporter of cannabis, I was more than excited to try out these products with Brooklyn. On top of being beneficial for separation anxiety, Dope Dog also helps with joint pain, epilepsy, inflammation and issues that may arise to your pup’s aging. I have not come across a product such as this one and am very thankful to have found it – this is a much needed product in our current dog market.
Though Brooklyn doesn’t have any other issues with the exception of her separation anxiety, it’s nice to know she is being treated for the other issues prior to them becoming a problem for her.
Be sure to check out the Dope Dog website & their Instagram.
Are there specific treats you reach for to her your puppy/dog with anxiety or any other issues? Please let me know in the comments below!
As always, thank you so much for stopping by.
Early May has been such a hectic month – my mother-in-law came down to visit, it was my 25th birthday on Mother’s Day, and Darien & I went on a little vacation to South Florida (Miami, give me a few years, we WILL be moving down). I’ve been trying to get back into our groove, honing down the daily routine, but in a week’s time, my sister & brother will be making there way to mi casa. This unconventional month is not done with us.
Since turning 25 last Sunday, and it’s a bit weird to say, I can already see my thought process changing and my habits adjusting, both in positive ways. Every time I would experience a birthday, I’ve always entered the new year with “I feel the same exact age as I did yesterday; doesn’t feel any different.” Twenty-five’s tone is completely new.
These photos were taken on April 29th, the last Sunday of April, as the Sun was setting. This was also the night of the Full Pink Moon – & if you’re a believer in the powers of our Sun/Moon, then you would know the spiritual meaning of this night. It is the start of blossoming, making changes for the best – it being your habits or the circle of people around you. Embracing this new wave of positive change to enhance your life.
Did you know of the Full Pink Moon on 4/29/18? Have you noticed any changed in your habits, lifestyle, thoughts since the end of April? I would love to know down below!
Actually looking at my outfit, it didn’t dawn on me until that every single piece here is thrifted:

Is this real? Is this Glendaly really posting something on the blog. Wait, who’s GCeeStyle?
I’m sure there are a lot of questions popping into your head right about now, ie: Where have I Been? Why the name change? What caused my absence? Definitely stay tuned, I have another blogpost coming soon that will answer all of these questions. But to keep this post short & simple, I’ve officially stepped out of my shell in this 8 month long [hiatus &] transition to FL.
I have gone through so many obstacles, stages and changes these past few months; I am beyond happy to finally be comfortable in my space. I filmed a little outfit’s video styling my black H&M Turtle neck in 3 office inspired looks – I’m still working on finding the right spot to film at home. I think I may have found it, next step is to work on creating creatively there.
I hope you enjoy this video! I’m totally still woking on getting my groove, and set-up, back.
Which outfit did you like best? 1, 2 or 3?
Thank you so much for stopping by!
Forever & always sending my love.
It’s my last day in New York City!
What better way to spend my last day then with an NYC themed OOTD video. This one was filmed by one of my good friends, Kendrin; also known as Koid24 on Instagram. Filming is his thing and I am so happy we manage to get a little collaboration video in before I left permanently.
The vision was most definitely in sync: I couldn’t be happier with the end result.
Kae and I were treated to a lil’ bowling date by Kendrin & his bae a few weeks ago. Just sit back, relax, and relive a NYC night with me.
Thank you so much for stopping by & watching!
Mad love, forever & always.
Those low points in life – they’re forever causing stress, heartache, maybe even slight depression. And no matter how hard you try to overcome your obstacle, you find yourself worse than before.
You’re allowed to feel down. Allowed to feel like there’s no hope. You should always permit yourself the time to feel. Even when the feelings aren’t great. You’re human, and you’re meant to handle rough roads. How else are you suppose to grow? Get stronger? Find YOU?
Give yourself the green-light to get lost for a bit. Once you find the path in that dark, dim world that is your thoughts, the directions to yourself will follow.

“Sometimes on the way to a dream, you get lost and find a better one.”
It’s been a good minute since I picked up a camera & shot on manual.
Before I started my blog, heck, before I even started my YouTube channel, I first became interested being behind the camera. I even applied to FIT in the hopes of majoring in Fashion Photography. But I’ll be honest, I didn’t really commit to photography the way I should have and wasn’t really surprised when I got my rejection letter, either. Life. It happens.
& I’m not sure if it’s just me, but I’ve been feeling super nostalgic lately – I’ve been itching to get back into old habits.
With that in play & my current, serious obsession with the whole Mom/Daughter-Blogger-Duo-thing, I decided to spend an afternoon shooting with my mini. When we’re out and about, she always asks me to take her photos – this just felt right.
At the end, I asked her if she had fun doing the shoot and she yelled “Yes!” with no hesitation.

Nothing feels more amazing than watching your dreams become your reality. I was not planning on having another shoot with Kaelynn for another few months but baby girl was ready to take photos with mommy. #blessed
This was definitely not expected – but it’s totally something I am extremely happy about. My obsession with the Mom & Daughter Blogger Duo is real and I cannot wait to start heading in that same direction with my own blog.
I was teaching the munchkin how to cross her legs and her attempts were beyond adorable to watch. And she totally got the hang of it after a while! The fact that she is totally open to trying new things makes my heart so warm; there’s really nothing else I can ask for as a mama.
Working on getting detailed shots is the next thing we’re going to tackle next time I include baby girl. She’s getting the hang of it and that means everything.
My little forever girl. ❤

Until next week,
I’m not one who normally posts up the throwbacks on Thursday’s. I, personally, don’t enjoy reliving past memories – I’m always about the now and working towards the future goals I have set for myself. Today, however, I’m breaking that non-habit with an Outfit of the Day from my 23rd birthday last May.
My birthday last year was the moment in my blogging career where I really wanted to learn how to create quality content – especially with my photos. Darien, my boyfriend turned photographer, shot these photos in RAW mode and later learned that his version of photoshop couldn’t support them. We recently updated to the latest version of Adobe Cloud and we both couldn’t be more excited. The hard work we’re going to be putting in this year is going to be r e a l.
We ended up going out to a simple dinner date in our neighborhood – nothing too crazy nor fancy. I wanted to go for a ‘casual, but cute’ look. I was super pleased with my day.
My biggest blessing though: having my boyfriend be my best friend, photographer, and biggest fan. I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday companion. Or life partner, really.

‘Till next week,
One of my New Year’s resolution for both my blog and YouTube channel is definitely branching out into the world of Mom Blogging. I follow so many mom bloggers who coordinate their looks with their little ones; and the swagspiration is always on point. Now that my girl is almost 2 1/2 years old, I am excited to slowly introduce her to the blogging world and hope that she enjoys it as much as I do.
I’m happy to say that our first impromptu photo shoot went pretty well.
The last month of 2016 has been a month filled with both reflections and hardcore planning. Expect to see more of me this year – and occasionally, a very special, miniature, guest.
