“…She had the soul of a gypsy, the heart of a hippie, the spirit of a fairy…”
I am a proud Taurus. I know some folks aren’t into their horoscopes but I am a total horoscope junkie – I love to read them on the daily! One of the many known traits of Taurus’s is the fact that we are Earth signs – we love all things nature, and green. I totally have a connection with mother Earth and wanted to dedicate an entire post to all of her glory:
The dress is from H&M: I am in love with how delicate and dainty I feel in it; it’s totally spot on as far as capturing the ‘bohemian’ vibes I’m constantly yearning for.
The earrings are from a local jewelry designer here in Bushwick who I happened to meet at my last Flea Market vending event; these are definitely my current go-to accessory. To check out her Instagram click here.
Both my shoes and clutch were thrifted. I will forever be a promoter of thrifting and recycling clothing. For my top 8 tips on thrifting, be sure to click here.
I’m also thinking about dedicating a post/video to the issues of Fast Fashion and how fashion really does feed off of our consumerist culture. This is something that I have personally been affected by and want to try to make a positive change in. Please let me know if anyone is interested in learning more about fast fashion and its effects on our planet!
January literally came and went in the blink of an eye. It always amazes me how fast time flies when you’re older – I was always in such a rush to grow up as a kid that I never realized how important it really is to enjoy the present. It’s why I took January off from both my blog & YouTube channel. I spent the past month giving focus to the foundation of my life, making sure things are running smoothly. I gave myself time to embrace my new look and find my inner beauty, while also giving my daughter and boyfriend my undivided attention. The break also gave me time to find new loves – and I wanted to share them with y’all! Here are the things I have been loving in the month of January:
The main thing I’ve been loving this past month is my new hairless doo. I shaved bald on Dec 28th, due to my alopecia, and I swear, it was the best decision of my life. I feel like me, and it feels amazing. I cannot wait to create new outfits that compliment this hair style for the Spring & Summer – it’s going to be so lit. For now, I’m going to stay with a buzz cut, but when the warmer weather hits, I definitely plan on shaving bald again. Because yes, bald is beautiful.
As far as make-up goes, the only product I have been loving this past month is Colour Pop’s Lippie Stix & Lippie Pencil in the color Grunge. It’s the perfect shade of brown, which is super trendy right now. Being priced at only $5, having amazing staying power and being awesomely pigmented, what more can you ask for in a lippie?
I have been SO obsessed with this faux-fur coat. I picked it up during my last thrift trip, which you can watch here, and was a bit nervous about it because it’s totally not my style. Lately, I’ve been forcing myself to play around with it more – and it’s been really fun incorporating this piece into my wardrobe. My favorite thing about this coat is definitely the fact that I don’t need to layer heavily underneath it – I’m guaranteed warmth.
For keeping my head and neck warm, I have been loving this scarf and faux-fur hat combo. I always get compliments when I wear this hat, and it’s a serious confidence booster – I always feel fierce when I rock it. The scarf doesn’t have a loud print, which makes it my perfect everyday scarf. Surprisingly, it matches with everything.
Hoop earrings are an accessory I would have never worn with hair. Earrings in general were something I never saw myself wearing pre-head shave. I’ve been feeling a lot more confident bald, so rocking these statements earrings has been so much fun as of late! They make any outfit sassier and with my bald head, it immediately screams badass. I’m excited to expand my earring collection these coming months.
I released my Dead Gypsy & Co Holiday Collection on my etsy shop about a month ago and have been rocking this ‘Her’ bracelet like crazy! I love how neutral the colors are, it literally matches with everything.
I love planning. I love planners. And I love planner stickers. Staying organized and keeping track of my daily to-do’s is something I commit a lot of my time to. To make planning my days a lot more fun & inspiring, I printed out these planner stickers on sticker paper. I always look forward to planning my day.
I really enjoy meditating, and I have been trying my hardest to make meditation a daily routine for me. I’m still new to the community, so guided meditation’s does wonders for me! I have been obsessed with The Honest Guys’ youtube channel – I can always find a guided meditation that fits my current feelings and mood. Here is a quick 3 minute guide they recently uploaded; sit back or lay down, close your eyes, pop in your headphones and breath:
Since I was on a break from school last month, I had time to sit back & binge watch some netflix. I started and finished the show Narcos, which is a Netflix original and yes, I definitely do recommend. To me, it’s a combination of Dexter & Breaking Bad, which are two of my all time favorite shows. Check it out for yourself, here’s a little trailer:
Last, but certainly not least, music.
I have been obsessed, and I mean obsessed, with both Tommy Genesis & ABRA. Both are under Father’s umbrella at Awful Records and I have seriously been playing their albums on repeat.
ABRA: Her sound is super trippy, and the imagery she uses in her music videos are simply mesmerizing. I like to think of ABRA as the HipHop/R&B version of Grimes, which literally makes ABRA my #wcwevery week.
Tommy Genesis: Tommy is the newest member of Awful Records, which is why shes dubbed baby awful. She is definitely an alternative rapper – I can see hints of MIA in her sound, which also makes Tommy Genesis my #wcwevery week.
Confession: I’ve made both of ’em #wcw’s on my Instagram. On the same day. Because I am that obsessed.
What were some of your favorites last month?
Thank you so much for stopping by; sending you all of my love!
Today’s outfit post is a bit random – I won’t lie. That’s because the original outfit I was planning on posting today didn’t work out how it was supposed too. NOTE TO SELF: Take photos during daylight hours.
Darien & I didn’t have time to go to our usual spot, so we opt for a mini photoshoot in our backyard. It’s my go to location whenever I film OOTD’s & Lookbooks. This will be our go to spot whenever life get’s too real & we can’t go to our PLAN A spot. The life of being a parent is very unexpected.
This outfit was inspired by the chill, urban vibes of my beloved Brooklyn. Even though I am a momma, I can’t deny that I do enjoy rocking school girl, sporty/skater type looks. My love for sporty street wear definitely appeared in my fashion radar a few years back, when Darien and I got together. When you’re with someone all of the time, you can’t help but be influenced by their presence. TIP: Find inspiration in everyone you know.
My love for 5 panels is definitely one of the things I gained from being with Darien. It’s all he ever wears. I always thought girls who rocked these type of hats were super cool, but I was always insecure about how I would look in them. Once I grew the guts to not care about what people thought of me or how I looked, I started rocking them all the time, with no shame. This hat is my first 5 panel, and I won’t ever get rid of it. The floral print screams Glendaly & the brim is a beautiful suede. Such a dope piece. TIP: Don’t be afraid to rock that killer piece of clothing. Tell yourself you will look bomb & trust me, YOU WILL LOOK BOMB.
This boyfriend tee is literally one of my favorites. I recommend every girl picking up at least one – it literally falls on the body perfectly. Perfectly slouchy, perfectly oversized, perfectly perfect. This is one of those pieces where I’d suggest spending a few more bucks on – quality is always better than quantity. I will preach this until the end of time.
Notice that I wore this tee in last weeks outfit post? TIP: A piece you can wear more ways that one, two or thirty times, is a piece worth investing in.
This is literally the first time I wore this skirt & I’ve had it for over 2 years. It fits perfect, is a beautiful a-line shape and makes me feel super cute. But the bad thing about it? It’s white. I never wear white bottoms, so it’s really hard for me to style this piece. I do plan on dying it black, though. I’m confident I’d wear it weekly once I do. TIP: Recycle old clothing. It’s a great way to make old pieces feel fresh.
I wore my Steve Madden nude booties because I though it’d match my hat better than my black pair, but I was a little nervous about my bottom half being to light. To add a block between the white skirt & nude shoes, I decided to rock these socks from Target. Awesome enough, it has white, nude, and black which I feel added a cool touch to the entire ensemble.
This American Eagle Aztec Print mini backpack was my bag choice because I wanted this look to have a super cool, laid back vibe.
My shades are my current obsession – I wear these all of the time with almost every outfit.
The jewelry is kept super simple; my top necklace is a DeadGypsie original & my longer one was a gift from my mother-in-law; my Sun God from Puerto Rico.

Until Friday. Mad Love.
It’s finally time for me to properly introduce myself –
The name’s Glendaly Corona & I am the Mom Fairy. [For those of you who don’t know, La Mama Hada is The Mom Fairy in Spanish.]
I’m currently 22 years old, a stay-at-home mom, student & fashion lover. 22 year old mom?! You read that correctly. I am a proud mother to a beautiful 10-month old baby girl. I never imagined myself as a young mom, but I am one of those people who believe that things happen for a reason.
The thought of becoming a young mom scared me beyond belief – all of the bad connotations that come along with that title is daunting. However, I can honestly say that becoming a young momma helped me get my life together. My life made complete sense the moment I held baby Kaelynn in my arms in the delivery room.
It amazes me everyday seeing & experiencing all of the good changes that has happened in my life since becoming a young momma. I’ve finally, and I am going to ‘yell’ this: FINALLY FOUND MYSELF. FOUND SELF LOVE. & IT FEELS GREAT. I was lost & confused before I got pregnant. I didn’t have any drive, any dedication or commitment to almost every aspect of my life. But my daughter changed that. She gave me all of the commitment & dedication I needed to become successful in every aspect of my life. I know people’s level of success varies, but being in my life situation as it is – I feel beyond successful. MY POINT: Don’t ever let society bring you down for being a young mom. Take the challenge, embrace it & own it.
I am currently living in Brooklyn, NY; & am a proud native. There’s no place like New York City, but there are so many places that don’t get highlighted like the famous Time Square, or Dumbo.
I grew up in the projects in East New York, where gang violence happens on the regular, you find piss all over the elevator floor & the stench of drugs seeps through your windows & doors. It wasn’t the best living conditions, but I managed to survive and found my way into Bushwick; which is no longer Bushwick, thanks to gentrification.
At the moment, I’m kind of stuck on where to go next. SO here’s a list of random facts about me:
My mother is Puerto Rican & my father is Mexican.
Tacos are my favorite food.
I am a Theatre Major at my Uni & only have a year left.
I am not religious.
However, I am very spiritual. I am one with the stars.
Black is my favorite color. Green comes after.
May 13th is my birthday.
My 1st birthday was Friday the 13th. When I found this out, I swore my life made complete sense to me.
I’m not sure what else to say – I really do suck at talking about myself. If you have any questions, please, feel free to ask! I don’t bite.
Thank you for taking your time & checking out my blog, I will forever be grateful.
Just to make things clear, I haven’t yet figured out a schedule for my posts. I’m thinking 3 days a week: Monday, Wednesday & Friday.
This is how it’s gon’ be broken down:
Monday: Written post.
Wednesday: Outfit/Photography post.
Friday: Video post.
I’m super stoked to use this blog as a form of expression. I honestly feel like this time, my blog WILL grow with me. I can’t wait to embark on this adventure & hope to make tons of new friends along the way.
I was speaking to Darien [my boo thang] about planning & figuring out where I should take this blog & he recommended that I should have a variety of photos, writings & videos.
I’d love to write more, both for my blog & in my free time. I have a few reasons why: Mainly, I NEED to write more. I use to love writing in high school. It was one of my favorite things to do during my free time. But as I got older, I don’t know what happened, but, my interest just disappeared. Reading & writing is one of the most magical forms of expression, I think. These two things can keep your imagination soaring – that’s amazing. I’d also love to share my experiences as a young momma in this blog. It’d be great to even have discussions about momma life with y’all! If you have any suggestions on what I should write for any future posts, please, let me know.
Fashion is my niche. Hump Day = Best day of the week. It just works.
I will forever love Youtube. I’ve thought about quitting but the love between us is too strong. So expect videos from me. Mostly fashion videos, but don’t worry, there will be some variety in content.
I don’t want this intro to be super long so I’m going to end it here. I promise, next written post is GOING TO BE a proper INTRODUCTION; all about who I am and why I’m here, posting. Stay tuned.
Back to the outfit:
To be honest, there were 2 other outfit posts that were suppose to go up today, but with the circumstances that is called my life, I had to work around distractions.
There were a few things Darien & I had to get done on Sunday, so I had to rush, quickly put an outfit together, and head out. My completed look:
Don’t mind the fact that it’s the ending of June & I’m fully covered. It was pretty chilly in the a.m. due to the rain.
My main tip for this look: black is always the new black. TIP: When in doubt, black it out. No one can ever go wrong with wearing black. I don’t own a black t-shirt [I desperately need to change that], so I decided to add a bit of color with this burgundy/red boyfriend tee. Boyfriend tee’s are my favorite, they just fall in the right places. It was chilly, as I stated earlier, so I covered up with my knit cardi from Brandy Melville.** TIP: When wearing the same color, spice things up with some texture.
I’m so happy that I’ve managed to loose enough weight to pick up a few pair of jeans – these black high waisted skinnies from AE were such a great pick up. I’ve already worn the hell out of them! They match everything, fit me nicely, & are high waisted so food babies can easily be covered.
Shoes & Bag**: I’ve had both of these pieces for over 2 years now, and they are both two of my favorite pieces to rock. Remember my last post? I still stand by fringe being equivalent to my life. The shoes: it’s been a while since I’ve rocked these, but wearing them reminded me of why I loved them so much. Expect to see these again this summer.
For jewelry I kept it super simple with one necklace. I’m wearing the Onyx necklace from my Etsy shop. I’ve been wearing it a lot lately – it’s my current favorite go-to-piece.
This was a super simple, quick look, but is an outfit that really reflects who I am. There’s nothing wrong with being simple sometimes. It’s actually pretty refreshing.
NEW BLOGGER ALERT: Well, I’m not super new. I’ve had a few blogs before this one. Typical, right? It’s always fun thinking up & physically starting a new bog, but the challenge definitely lies in the consistency of posting & engaging.
I’d like to take a moment, right now, to thank the Universe for all of the life events I have experienced thus far: I’m convinced the Universe has been teaching me the ways of success the past few years. & I’m here today to say “Universe, thank you for all of your lessons. I’m ready to leave my mark.” I haven’t properly introduce myself on this blog, so don’t mind the story above this. We’re about to get into the real point of this post.
I know this outfit post may seem a bit irrelevant, but I’ll be honest, I really liked the outfit I wore on Father’s Day. I loved my outfit, actually. For many reasons: I felt beautiful. I felt fierce. I felt like I could take over the world, given the opportunity. This is how I love to feel when walking the concrete jungles of NYC.
The base of this outfit is definitely the Romper. I love this thing – mainly because I only spent 5 bucks on it at the thrift store. TIP: Thrift stores are bomb. Want pieces no one else has? Shop there. I’m convinced after wearing this piece that having a romper, at least one, is a necessity in every girls closet. It’s the perfect piece to just throw on & style according to your mood. I can see myself styling this one piece in many different ways. That’s, in my book, an essential in my closet. I didn’t take any photos of just the romper, but just so y’all know, it’s pretty short & has spaghetti straps, so there’s a lot of skin showing.
Even though I am a momma to a beautiful 10 month old baby girl, I believe that there’s nothing wrong with showing SOME skin. Key word, some. TIP: TOP or BOTTOM? If I want to show lots of leg, I always cover up on top. & vice versa. I happen to love my legs, so I show them off, a lot. Covering up on top is usually the way I go, but the choice, my friend, is yours. I decided to cover up with my floral kimono.
I know it might seem scary mixing prints, but it’s literally one of my favorite things to do with fashion. The key? Finding a common color. TIP: Mixing prints is super easy, just make sure that all of the prints you are using has a common color. This tip is my favorite fashion tip I’ve ever learned. You’re welcome.
Another essential in your closet: comfortable, cute black booties. I know this is a given, but if you DO NOT own a pair of black, ankle booties, do yourself a favor & buy a pair. You’re life will change forever, I promise. Black literally matches with everything, the small, thick heel makes walking easy, and your outfit will instantly become more dressier. Can’t forget that if you happen to have really nice legs, your calves will thank you. TIP: Treat yo self. In more ways than one.
Statement Bag: this is definitely another essential. I’m not saying that you need to buy this specific bag, but INVEST in a bag that represents your style completely. Bags are a tad bit on the pricier side. But with this fashion piece, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with investing your money. TIP: QUALITY > QUANTITY. This bag is going to be the perfect summer bag for me because fringe is equivalent to what my life represent.
I apologize for the lack of jewelry photos on this post. I’m slowly, but surely, embracing my love for jewelry. I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with these types of accessories; I never found pieces that ‘fit’ me. It makes sense why I started making my own jewelry.
Earrings are my latest obsession jewelry wise. I love wearing them only in my left ear. I usually like to wear a pair of earrings, sometimes one depending on my mood, in that ear. It’s my thing. Don’t ask.
