To the Moon & Back.

Happy Hump Day:

20150725-_MG_7999First things first: I know the photos in this post are a bit different from my previous ones, that’s all thanks to one of my closest homies Oscar Rivera. His skills are insane. We are planning on collaborating weekly, so my outfit photos are going to be a bit more on the artsy side. What do y’all thing? Are you diggin’ them?

Check out his work HERE.

I was totally inspired by the moon with this outfit. This white moto vest has been in my closet for about two years now. I bought this piece about 2-3 weeks before I found out I was pregnant, so I haven’t had the chance to really style it. With being a mom & not fitting into my smaller sizes, this piece was just collecting dust in my closet. It’s definitely the main focus of my outfit. I was going for an edgy, astronaut look. Ha. Can’t even take myself seriously typing that.

20150725-_MG_8078

20150725-_MG_8070I combined my Brandy Melville black tie dye tank with my Neff x Jhene Aiko shorts because mixing prints is just one of my favorite things to do when it comes to fashion. I thought it was a fun way to rock the mono trend, while still keeping the funky feeling I normally aim for.

20150725-_MG_7977For shoes, I went with my black Steve Madden Ankle booties. I was originally going to rock a pair of mono heeled booties, but I wanted to keep this look relatively casual. These booties are one of my favorite pair of shoes because I can wear it with almost any outfit I put together.

Lace up booties is love. Lace up booties is life.

As for my bag, if you’ve been following me, you would know that it’s my only black purse. My favorite thing about this bag, though, has to be the fact that its fringe. I love adding fringe to non-bohemian outfits, it’s the perfect way to add a bit of “chill vibes.”

Let me know what you guys think of these new photos!

How would you style an all white moto vest?

Happy Hump Day:

pic1I’ve been in a dark funk lately. Don’t worry, it’s not because I’ve been sad or depressed about anything. Usually when I’m in a dark funk, it means everything is going well & dandy. Black is my happy color. Anyone else feels that way or is it just me?

I came up with this outfit a few days ago; I was feeling a bit adventurous and wanted to take a walk around Dumbo, Brooklyn. SIDENOTE: Dumbo is insane, it’s currently under construction but the view you get of the city is beautiful. Literally one of my favorite spots in Brooklyn. Here’s a picture:

pic4It was midnight when we decided to head out, so I didn’t have time to pick out an outfit. I decided to grab my Brandy Melville T-shirt dress – it’s such an easy piece to style & I’ve been rocking it almost everyday the past few weeks. As a cover up, I threw on my Brandy knitted cardigan. It was a bit chilly, but not super chilly, so it was a perfect fit that night. I feel like I’ve been wearing this piece a lot more now, then when I first bought it 2 years ago. It has definitely gained it’s spot as an essential in my closet.

For my bag, I decided to go with my black Brandy Fringe bag because, as I’ve said before, fringe is my life. To be honest, I actually don’t own any other black bag, so unless I wanted to add a pop of color, this would have been my bag choice regardless.

pic3As for shoes, I decided to go with my Nike Free’s.

I use these sneakers when I go to the gym, but I do occasionally have moments when I feel like adding a bit of sporty chic into an outfit.

For jewelry, I kept it pretty simple with pieces I wear all the time. I was really into the tattoo chocker trend 2 years ago, when the 90s was first coming back to style, but I’m beyond over it. I like the bracelet version because it’s not as ‘teen’ as the necklace, but still gives off some spunk.

This was a super simple, quick outfit I put together and I absolutely love the way it turned out. You could never go wrong with an all black ensemble.

Anyone else into the sporty chic look?

Until Friday.

Happy Friday:

I recently picked up this 2-piece set from the Jhene Aiko x Neff collaboration and have been dying to style it.

Needless to say, I had a ton of fun filming this & cannot wait to keep on styling these pieces.

Which outfit would you wear?

Orange is the New Black

Happy Hump Day:

pic4The week I started this entire blog, I randomly found a free blogging class on Craigslist. It was super unexpected and, to me, an omen that blogging is where I need to spend my time and energy. It was a great experience, and I met such awesome, beautiful people.

On the last day of class, the teacher, Melrose, spent time with each person individually to help them figure out their first blogpost. I had already posted up my first, so she was helping me figure out an idea for a future post. I loved the way she guided me in finding this idea. She made me listen to music and told me to pick out any words or phrases that stood out to me. When I was done with that, the next step was to write whatever came to mind when I read these words or phrases. I definitely plan on doing this exercise again; I thought it was a neat way to keep my creative juices flowing.

I was listening to Childish Gambino’s 3005 and the phrase “High off Volcano’s” played through my headphones. And from that phrase I free wrote until the idea of rocking a bold, orange lip came to mind. It was actually supposed to be an ombre red/orange lip, but I ain’t no make-up artist. I couldn’t pull that off.

The reason why this post was so backed up was because orange isn’t my typical lip color. Not only was I scared to rock it, but I just couldn’t come up with an outfit. I eventually did, and, as y’all can see, here it is.

pic3I wanted to rock an orange lip because it’s so out of my comfort zone. “Be bold & unafraid to flaunt your orange pout, Glenda.” Yes, that’s what I told myself. My necklace is a DeadGypsie Original. Natural & dyed wood with a natural buffalo tooth pendant. My lip color is ELF’s Orange Dream.

pic5For my outfit, I tried to keep it super simple. I added hints of red & orange because when I googled how to style an outfit around an orange lip, the main tip I found was actually to rock the color orange. Which is super bold and I’m not ready for all that. Maybe for a future post?

My top is vintage; it was my mom’s back in the day. I cut off the sleeves to make it into a muscle tank type thing. My shorts are American Eagle high rise shorties. I’ve grown an obsession with high-rise jeans & shorts thanks to the trend. I rock ’em proudly.

My bag is from Urban and it’s been with me for YEARS. Best clearance item I’ve bought from Urban [20$ SCORE!]. I don’t ever want to get rid of this bag. It’s one of those bags that just sums me up perfectly. It has beads, jingles when I walk, so I feel like a gypsy, and the color is just beautiful. You’d be surprised by how easy it is to style this bag.

pic6

Y’all saw these shoes in last week’s post; they’re my nude Steve Madden Lace Up Booties. I’m obsessed with these, more than my black ones, surprisingly. They’re just a good shoe that matches with so many things. I love clothing pieces that I can rock more ways than one. Am I the only one who appreciates a good piece?

That’s all for today’s post. I’ll catch you guys on Friday.

Stay smiling beauties.

Happy Wednesday beauts!

pic7Today’s outfit post is a bit random – I won’t lie. That’s because the original outfit I was planning on posting today didn’t work out how it was supposed too. NOTE TO SELF: Take photos during daylight hours.

Darien & I didn’t have time to go to our usual spot, so we opt for a mini photoshoot in our backyard. It’s my go to location whenever I film OOTD’s & Lookbooks. This will be our go to spot whenever life get’s too real & we can’t go to our PLAN A spot. The life of being a parent is very unexpected.

Outfit Deets:

This outfit was inspired by the chill, urban vibes of my beloved Brooklyn. Even though I am a momma, I can’t deny that I do enjoy rocking school girl, sporty/skater type looks. My love for sporty street wear definitely appeared in my fashion radar a few years back, when Darien and I got together. When you’re with someone all of the time, you can’t help but be influenced by their presence. TIP: Find inspiration in everyone you know.

My love for 5 panels is definitely one of the things I gained from being with Darien. It’s all he ever wears. I always thought girls who rocked these type of hats were super cool, but I was always insecure about how I would look in them. Once I grew the guts to not care about what people thought of me or how I looked, I started rocking them all the time, with no shame. This hat is my first 5 panel, and I won’t ever get rid of it. The floral print screams Glendaly & the brim is a beautiful suede. Such a dope piece. TIP: Don’t be afraid to rock that killer piece of clothing. Tell yourself you will look bomb & trust me, YOU WILL LOOK BOMB.

pic3

This boyfriend tee is literally one of my favorites. I recommend every girl picking up at least one – it literally falls on the body perfectly. Perfectly slouchy, perfectly oversized, perfectly perfect. This is one of those pieces where I’d suggest spending a few more bucks on – quality is always better than quantity. I will preach this until the end of time.

Pic1

Notice that I wore this tee in last weeks outfit post? TIP: A piece you can wear more ways that one, two or thirty times, is a piece worth investing in.

This is literally the first time I wore this skirt & I’ve had it for over 2 years. It fits perfect, is a beautiful a-line shape and makes me feel super cute. But the bad thing about it? It’s white. I never wear white bottoms, so it’s really hard for me to style this piece. I do plan on dying it black, though. I’m confident I’d wear it weekly once I do. TIP: Recycle old clothing. It’s a great way to make old pieces feel fresh.

pic6I wore my Steve Madden nude booties because I though it’d match my hat better than my black pair, but I was a little nervous about my bottom half being to light. To add a block between the white skirt & nude shoes, I decided to rock these socks from Target. Awesome enough, it has white, nude, and black which I feel added a cool touch to the entire ensemble.

pic5

This American Eagle Aztec Print mini backpack was my bag choice because I wanted this look to have a super cool, laid back vibe.

My shades are my current obsession – I wear these all of the time with almost every outfit.

pic4

The jewelry is kept super simple; my top necklace is a DeadGypsie original & my longer one was a gift from my mother-in-law; my Sun God from Puerto Rico.

The Mom Fairy Who?

Happy Monday:

It’s finally time for me to properly introduce myself –

20140316-DSC02087The name’s Glendaly Corona & I am the Mom Fairy. [For those of you who don’t know, La Mama Hada is The Mom Fairy in Spanish.]

I’m currently 22 years old, a stay-at-home mom, student & fashion lover. 22 year old mom?! You read that correctly. I am a proud mother to a beautiful 10-month old baby girl. I never imagined myself as a young mom, but I am one of those people who believe that things happen for a reason.

The thought of becoming a young mom scared me beyond belief – all of the bad connotations that come along with that title is daunting. However, I can honestly say that becoming a young momma helped me get my life together. My life made complete sense the moment I held baby Kaelynn in my arms in the delivery room.

DSC02907

It amazes me everyday seeing & experiencing all of the good changes that has happened in my life since becoming a young momma. I’ve finally, and I am going to ‘yell’ this: FINALLY FOUND MYSELF. FOUND SELF LOVE. & IT FEELS GREAT. I was lost & confused before I got pregnant. I didn’t have any drive, any dedication or commitment to almost every aspect of my life. But my daughter changed that. She gave me all of the commitment & dedication I needed to become successful in every aspect of my life. I know people’s level of success varies, but being in my life situation as it is – I feel beyond successful. MY POINT: Don’t ever let society bring you down for being a young mom. Take the challenge, embrace it & own it.

I am currently living in Brooklyn, NY; & am a proud native. There’s no place like New York City, but there are so many places that don’t get highlighted like the famous Time Square, or Dumbo.

I grew up in the projects in East New York, where gang violence happens on the regular, you find piss all over the elevator floor & the stench of drugs seeps through your windows & doors. It wasn’t the best living conditions, but I managed to survive and found my way into Bushwick; which is no longer Bushwick, thanks to gentrification.

At the moment, I’m kind of stuck on where to go next. SO here’s a list of random facts about me:

My mother is Puerto Rican & my father is Mexican.
Tacos are my favorite food.
I am a Theatre Major at my Uni & only have a year left.
I am not religious.
However, I am very spiritual. I am one with the stars.
Black is my favorite color. Green comes after.
May 13th is my birthday.
My 1st birthday was Friday the 13th. When I found this out, I swore my life made complete sense to me.

I’m not sure what else to say – I really do suck at talking about myself. If you have any questions, please, feel free to ask! I don’t bite.

Thank you for taking your time & checking out my blog, I will forever be grateful.

Stay smiling.
